An AI agent for Google Search Console
The agent reads your site's search data from Google Search Console every week, finds the pages people see in Google but rarely click, and rewrites those pages' titles, descriptions and answers in your own publishing system. It works through the Search Console API, so it reads the same queries, pages, clicks, impressions and positions you see in the Performance report, and it changes nothing in Search Console itself.
The Search Console data it reads
We built it for The Keyword, a marketing news site, as its AI SEO agent. Each week it asks Search Console for the same report over two windows and decides from the answer which page to work on.
- Queries and pages together. Every search query paired with the page Google showed for it, with its clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, for the last 4 weeks and again for the last 7 days.
- Finished data only. Both windows end three days before the run and use only the data Google has marked as final, so no figure is still moving while the agent decides.
- Searches by people. Some queries in Search Console come from software rather than people, such as long strings that collect impressions and never a click. The agent takes those out before it scores anything, so each page is judged on searches by people.
- Clicks against position. For each query it compares the share of people who clicked with the share a result in that position would expect to get, and gives extra weight to queries sitting between positions 5 and 15, just short of the top of page one.
- Searches still happening. A query with no impressions in the last seven days, or one whose searches have fallen away, is dropped, so a page is never rewritten for a search that has stopped.
The page with the most clicks to gain becomes that week's work.
What it leaves alone
In Search Console it only reads. It asks for the performance data and nothing else, so it never submits a sitemap, removes a page from Google, changes a setting or adds a user. A page it has rewritten stays off its list for 45 days, so the change has time to show in the data before the page is looked at again. A query it has judged not worth chasing, such as a search a platform owns or another brand's name, goes on a list with the reason and is never put forward again. Pages you keep out, such as articles another supplier writes for you, never reach its list at all.
Running on The Keyword's Search Console
The agent has worked from The Keyword's Search Console since June 2026. Up to October 2026, that Search Console showed clicks from Google more than doubled month over month on fewer impressions, so click-through rate went from 0.07% to 0.17%.
The build, the rules it works from and what it recorded are in the The Keyword case study.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it need my Google password?
No. It connects the way Google lets any app connect to Search Console: someone with access to your property signs in to Google and approves access for the agent, so we never hold your password.
- What does it do that the Search Console reports don't?
The reports show you where clicks are being lost. The agent goes on to choose the page worth fixing, rewrite it, publish the change and write down what it did and why, every week, without anyone opening a report.
- Does it count AI Overviews and AI Mode?
Yes, within the totals. Google includes appearances in AI Overviews and AI Mode in Search Console's overall search figures, and those overall figures are the ones the agent reads.
- Does it work with my website platform?
Where your platform lets another program edit its pages, the agent publishes the change itself. Where it doesn't, the agent prepares each edit for someone on your team to paste in.
- What does it cost?
It comes within one flat monthly fee for unlimited agents, month to month, so you pay nothing per page it changes. We give you the price on the call.
